FIRST MAIN PROJECT “THANK YOU SWITZERLAND”

The presentation of a memorial plaque is intended to thank the Swiss population for their support during and after the Kosovo conflict in 1998/99. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) has commissioned the city of Zurich to symbolically accept the plaque. The event is supported by the Kosovo government and the city of Zurich.

The installation of the plaque at the Fraumünster in Zurich will take place during an official ceremony in the presence of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Fatmir Sejdiu, and Kosovar government representatives. On the Swiss side, Federal Councilor Micheline Calmy-Rey and the Mayor of Zurich, Elmar Ledergerber, will participate.

Ceremonial handover of the memorial plaque

The event was public and took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at 4:00 pm at the Münsterhof (Zurich).
